Travelling by cruise ship to Europe may not be something that would spring to most peoples minds as a travel option but there are some trips available. There are some passenger rooms on freighters but although these are cheap, they do not have the luxurious options of a cruise ship. However, if you do have the budget then you should be able to buy a ticket for part of a journey on a round the world cruise. In years gone by this was the only way to travel to Europe so step back in time and go by cruise ship.
Fly to Europe
Thursday, 22 July 2010
Flying to Europe may seem like the most obvious option. It can be cheaper if you buy it as part of a package but it can take a lot more time. Despite being one of the fastest ways to travel, there is a lot of time waiting around at the airport, waiting for connections and there tend to be flight delays as well. If you add up the travel time, you may find that it is quicker to drive or to take the train. It could be a lot cheaper as well. So think carefully when planning your travel to Europe and decide whether flying really is the best option for you.
Train Travel in Europe
Sunday, 13 June 2010
A great way to travel around Europe is by train. Because all of the countries are interlinked, with no sea between them, then you can easily cross borders by train and not have to worry about changing transport. It is possible to buy money saving tickets in advance and so it is well worth doing some research well in advance of your trip. You can normally book up to 3 months in advance and so you need to start thinking really early if you want to take full advantage of the savings that are to be made. You can book specific journeys in advance or get hold of travel cards which can help to reduce the fares.
Travel Insurance
Saturday, 22 May 2010
It may be easy to forget about insurance when you are just travelling to Europe, or you may think it is not that vital. However, it is important to think about the costs of losing luggage or having personal items stolen or even of return travel should you get unwell or need to get home in an emergency. We do not like to think that these things could happen to use but they are just as likely in Europe as any other country so make sure you keep all of your valuable things safe and you have insurance to put your mind at ease.
